Welcome!

Liza, George, Franklin, and I moved to Berlin, Germany in July and will spend three years here. To capture memories, keep track of things we loved or wish to do again, and to share experiences with family and friends, we created this site. You can expect regular posts, with topics ranging from what we saw on bike trips to park/playground quality to bakery and restaurant experiences. We will also include a few musings on daily life in Germany from the perspective of one American family.

I'm no expert on Germany, as I do not even speak the language. You won't earn deep expertise on the country from reading this, so please don't come in with that expectation. Instead, our goal with this site is to provide those we know and love with a look into our lives during this chapter. If you learn anything from reading this that you'd like to apply to your own travels here, that's a nice bonus.
